Some of them won hearts with their musicality only and others with some fashion trends along with melodious tunes, to justify their eternal presence in our mind. Ten is a very few number to make a great list, but DiskFaktory tried to list some in the best 10.

David Gilmour (6 March 1946 – Still Rocking)

One of the most famous and admired rock guitarists of all time, entertained many generations through solo albums and his band, Pink Floyd. The identity of Pink Floyd is incomplete without Gilmour’s inclusion in the troop.

He got nominated for the most number of times (15) in the history of the Grammy Awards without winning it for a single time. Another record of his name is that, he is the highest-selling instrumental rock guitarists of all time.

Les Paul (9 June 1915 – 12 August 2009)

The stats of being the only person to be included in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Inventors Hall of Fame, speaks volume about his long ruling span in the music industry from 1928-2009.

No one can ever keep this man out from his/her favourite guitarist’s list. Even staying and contributing in the talented Guns N Roses band, he still has a respectful separate identity in the minds of music lovers. The famous introductory riff played by him in the song, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” was voted no. 1, in “The 100 Greatest riffs” by the readers of Total Guitar magazine back in 2004. In 2015 he received the Les Paul Award.
