We have been very fortunate to work with some great people over the years and Martin Brown has got to be one of the greatest. Martin has been a tireless advocate for local musicians in DiskFaktory’s backyard, Orange County CA., the Inland Empire of Southern CA, Canada and now Europe!
His main focus has been the Orange County, Inland Empire, and Toronto Music Awards. Local musicians submit their tracks and a qualified panel of industry insiders vote on the most talented in each genre (regardless of production quality) and those folks are recognized for their hard work at a gala event. Its great exposure for these artists and it’s great for local music as a whole.
So what’s the point? ENTER these things! If you don’t live in these areas mentioned, seek out similar events in other major metropolitan areas close to you. Get your music listened to by pros, and who knows? You may end up getting an award, but at the very least you will get yourself and your band in the game and no one can deny that there’s a real rush in those four little words: “…and the winner is…”
